I have no idea why you think this is relevant. It makes me no more likely to think it is wise to compel people to believe in God, or to be forced into a sham performance of belief. If our founding fathers supported compulsory pledging, or pledges in public places that amounted to coercive religious practices, then they were wrong to support it, and I disagree with them. They were ahead of their times on other issues, thank goodness. I think the question we all need to ask ourselves is, "Are we ahead of the times, as our founding fathers were, or behind them?" Of course not everyone might agree that this is a question to ask oneself, but I think it's a good question.
