Yes. Sometimes I think it would be a great public service for someone to put out a reference book on who's who as far as political leanings go and what media sources have what connections to those people. For people like me who don't follow this stuff every waking moment to refer to.

There is a report out that says the media is liberal. The methodology they use to arrive at that conclusion is very flawed, but you don't hear much about how they arrived at that conclusion. Someone should do a media analysis of media bias based on good old fashioned political stands that are taken by the sides, and how often this slant is presented by any given media. How many right comments versus how many left comments.

Typical stands:

Left: choice, privacy, social justice, worker rights, environment

Right: economic prudence (Ha that's a laugh now but I am talking about traditional conservative values), small government, lower taxes, free trade, corporate domination (:)), offshoring work to other countries.

On Air America they are making the point that talk radio is almost totally dominated by right wing. Something like 44,000 hours per week right wing talk radio in the nation versus 3,000 for lefty stations. I live in the Seattle area and even our AM dial has many many more right wing stations than left wing stations. And that is in left-coast Seattle.
