ionesco, When the word "meat" is used, it usually means that it is an edible part of some animal in the food chain.

It is true that human flesh is of the same consistency as the flesh of any other animal, but being human, makes a difference in our minds. That is part of the feeling by many humans that our bodies are more than that of an animal, when in fact they are not.

The only thing that really got to me on the "meat" thing, was the vision I had of a dead soldier that died because some order was given from higher up the chain of command, and he was doing his duty as he was trained to do. Not to sound corny, but it wasn't his to wonder why, but to do, or die. I have a deeper feeling for such a loyal person than many others.

But, as I said before, I think it is a waste of lives to try and retrieve a dead body from the battle ground, but at the same time, must hold the tradition as an honorable one. It was said in "A Tale Of Two Cities", which I can only paraphrase. "Greater lover hath no man than to lay down his life for a friend".
