If people want to read only ideas that agree with their own, or attack people for ideas that are different from their own, they should stick to places where people post only ideas that agree with their own ideas. I do not think it is fair to read ideas that are different, and then attack the person when it is the idea you do not like (unless it is the person you do not like, and you camouflage the personal attack as being about ideas, which is probably even worse than simply getting emotional about ideas. I don't know what to say about people who do that, but it's not something I want to engage in.). It is especially ironic when the person who attacks others complains that people who think differently don't want to talk to him. I thought I was being polite to tell you by PM that to expect liberals to want to talk to you about ideas, when your posts attack people personally for ideas, and in a very nasty way, is not a logical way to approach discussion, or other people- but I did not want to be abused by you, and since you had already abused me publicly, I thought I could expect worse from you in private. I think that was logical rather than cowardly, so we will have to disagree on that. So we will disagree about what is outrageous, what is ironic, what is stupid, and what is cowardly. I don't know what is insensitive about seeing dead bodies differently. Is it insensitive to think that? Is it insensitive to say it? I can see how it might be at a funeral, but this isn't a funeral. So we'll have to disagree on insensitive too. If we are going to discuss ideas, and the ideas are at all emotional, then some people will be sensitive to any different idea. Some people will be offended by the idea that a fetus is human. Some people will be offended by the idea it is not. Some people will be offended by the idea of gun control, and some people will be horrified that others think eating meat is ok. I don't know why people would be on discussion boards if they did not want at least a glimpse of what is different, and of thoughts that are not like the thoughts they have. I find many of the ideas interesting and unusual, and I don't have any wish to harm anyone for their ideas, no matter how different from my own, and I certainly don't want to attack people for ideas. I can accept that some people think a body is worth losing a living man for. That's a very interesting concept to me. I find it really strange, but I wouldn't call people who think that way insensitive. In fact I enjoy reading very different ideas, but only if they come without personal insult, and if they aren't really attacks on people. I don't think I should expect personal attacks because my ideas are different. I still think that. Obviously you disagree.
