Problem is, our govt. and US corporations lied to workers when they told them in the 1980s and 1990s that there would be an IT shortage going forward for decades, and encouraged, actively, people pursuing these careers, only to drop them when it was convenient for themselves.>

Do you listen to your govt. and corporations to make your career decisions? In any case, picking a career is a gamble whosever advice you take.
