I'm proud we have a volunteer military and Americans should be proud of the people that volunteer. I agree with you. I am in favor of an all-volunteer Army. The current problem is we are not getting enough volunteers. The active duty strength of the US Army has declined 9 of the last 10 months. This is occurring at a time we want and need to increase the Army by 30,000. The only solution being tried is to raise enlistment and reenlistment bonuses by tens of thousands of dollars every month or two. That ain't working so far. I am in favor of the using draft to resolve this dilemma.
