Two recommendations, the first being a 1983 movie named “Betrayal.” The screenplay was written by Harold Pinter and the movie stars Jeremy Irons. It begins with an incident of domestic violent and proceeds to detail a doomed marriage in reverse chronology. Unfortunately, I don’t think that the movie is currently available.

The second is an extraordinary first novel by a poet, Ron Rash. “One Foot in Eden” relates the story of a murder committed in southern Appalachia during the 1950s through the voices of five different individuals. I thought that the ending was a bit wobbly, but maybe I was wrong.
