I'm only talking about the right to volunteer. What I remember was 3 mile runs the first month, 4 the second and 5 up to 7 the third, plus a few other things. But it was nothing Chuck Norris couldn't handle. I'm not fat.

I cant remember whether it was Parriss Island (boot camp) or Camp Geiger (advanced infantry training) but the last march was 26 miles QUICK TIME through SUGAR SAND with full pack and rifle. Then in Boot camp, I got sent to Motivation Platoon for a day for getting caught stealing a jar of peanut butter from the DI's table at mess. There we started by scrubbing the wooden floors with a brick and steel wool, then quick timed for 42 MILES again pack and rifle. GAWD I was in good shape then. jdn
