Wrong. Your assumption that the extra $5 in your example would go to the employee is false.

Business management is not your area of expertise...obviously.

That's right. And the employer adds the cost to whatever goods or services he sells and the consumer pays the tax in the end. It always comes back to us. We pay EVERY tax ever devised by a politician because it all filters down. When the price, because of taxes, for the goods or services goes beyond what a consumer will pay then taxation has ruined a business by driving up costs. The power to tax is the power to destroy.
