That's just the way it is. Facts are different sorts of animals." I'm not buying your assertion one bit. You know, for someone who holds yourself out to be a wunderkind elitist with few peers, you certainly have a limited, inflexible understanding of words & their meaning in real world applications. And when you consider that you are a master at abusing nuance when it suits you, I have serious doubts that even you buy your own assertion in the context applied here. Who said that facts were the sole determining factor in inappropriate or boorish behavior? Are you saying that sensitivity to others, civil behavior, consensus, reason, logic or decency, play no part? Are you saying there aren't numerous instances where reasonable, objective people would agree that inappropriate or boorish behavior is self evident to most rational, civilized people? Next, the words never or always were not used in my "unlike you" comments over on the Barrett Bucket thread. As noted, I disagree with the point you are trying to make. However, even if it was a clear cut example of me using feelings or perceptions when talking about someone, it proves nothing. At best you have one example, albeit you had to split hairs ET. AL., to make your point. Please note that when I posted the list of issues where I might comment about others had inappropriate or boorish behavior listed last. They came after reality defying POV's, hypocritical statements, lying, deceiving or making false or misleading assertions. Like most people making lists, I went from the most often used item to the least. This thread is dedicated to exposing reality defying POV's, opinions & assertions. In doing so hypocritical statements, lying, deceiving or making false or misleading assertions tend to get exposed quite often as well. Less so would be inappropriate & boorish behavior. If you had ever read the thread header & or followed this thread, you would already know that I expose them by providing facts & evidence from from credible sources. If you followed my postings on other threads you would know that I consistently apply those same standards elsewhere on SI. Since you have made assertions about me that attacked, ridiculed & demeaned me based on your feelings & perceptions, one would think that you already possessed some knowledge of my posting history. But then, it did turn out that your assertions were wrong based on the credible, independently verifiable evidence I provided to refute those baseless assertions. Your feelings were whimsical & your perceptions lacked three letters - MIS. They clearly were not reality based. And that was the point I was making on the Barrett Bucket thread. When I made my "unlike you" comment, the point I was making was your style of using perceptions & feelings when you make assertions about others is something I strenuously avoid. And on those occasions when I do let my feelings or perceptions get involved, I will at least make a serious attempt to have them be reality based. I don't just shoot my mouth off based solely on my feelings & perceptions. At a minimum I can point to something tangible that gives me a solid, reality based basis for my assertions. Feel free to disagree all you wish. If you simply wish to split hairs, I'm not interested. You weren't interested in nuance in your post to me. If it isn't cut & dried matters of substance, forgetaboutit. ****** As for the meat thing, R. D. Buschman siad it best.Message 21410187 Message 21410416 I stand by what I said. EOD
