I think it's good that Dean is offending people. The dems have been too afraid of offending people and it has hurt them. I think Dean should crank it up a notch and start giving republicans the finger and spitting when they get mentioned.

If Dean makes some people angry, I'm not concerned about that. There are always going to be some people that are angered by statements, true or false or inbetween. And you can bet our Rep's comments got plenty of table talk here.

It would be nice to bring some republicans to the democratic party, if the democratic leadership and members of congress will bother to start standing up for something instead of being a rubberstamp afraid of being called traitors or coddlers of the enemy. But that will happen on issues. If it doesn't happen on the issues, why bother? It isn't Dean's job to make republicans feel good about themselves, or to not get some of them upset with him and say they won't vote for a democrat. From Iraq, to the budget, to the Patriot Act II and our continuing loss of liberties, to the enviroment, and so on... there is too much to deal with and I care about the direction of this country changing, not about whether Dean talks sweet or annoys some people.
