re: I think your article rightly points out the problems of doing business with a dictator. So how would you make the decision? Is the alliance with Musharraf worth it to find Osama and get intelligence about radicals in the region? Or is it more in our short and long term interests to sever all support and relations with Musharraf because he is a dictator?

I'm pretty much a pragmatist when it comes to foreign policy. That's why I thought and think it was a huge mistake to attack and occupy Iraq.

Bush is hypocritical when he claims his moral outrage against Dictators. Hell, he's selling these guys jets that can deliver their nukes. How smart is that?

Wouldn't you say the proof is in the pudding. Its been nearly 5 years since 9/11. We have never gotten Osama. Roughly once a year, the Pakistanis capture one of Osama's key guys........someone usually near the top. Doesn't it feel a little calculated to you? The Pakistanis do just enough to keep up their end of the bargain without seriously upsetting the al Qa'ida apple cart. Is this worth keeping up a relationship with a tyrant with all the money we are giving Pakistan?
