The old good old boy world is getting dead. Those of us like me who went nuts working for women with way different managemnt styles way back when have now gotten used to this and even can see the value. The first women in business were too old fashioned, too weak, too stressed out by details. Now it is different and women managers are terrific in middle and upper management with a new consensus building/cooperative styles of management. Given the political nightmare of polarization over the last 20 years, it would be nice if women continue to gain influence in the public sector as well. When my daughter was born in 1972, i told her that everything was possible. I was early but i will tell my granddaughter this and it is true now.

Yes, I am delusional, right now I see you with long black ringlets of hair, dressed in gypsy clothes doing the dance of the 7 veils. (gg) jdn

"Three women have high pitched voices and I think their arguments are not rational, therefore women should never be president."

What is the logical fallacy involved here? I can't think of the name of it, and it's driving me nuts.

It's not Straw Man and it's not Slippery Slope.

It's a failure of inductive reasoning -- inductive reasoning is generalizing from a particular.

Dang. Just can't think of it.

Premise: Some women have high pitched voices and are irrational.
Premise: No person who is irrational and has a high pitched voice should be president.
Conclusion: No woman should be President.
That's false.

Premise: John McCain has a high pitched voice and is irrational.
Premise: No person who is irrational and has a high pitched voice should be president.
Conclusion: John McCain should not be President.
That's true. ;^)
