Mike,

What about the lungs? Smoking kills.

I had a great lunch with a college kid (daughter of a friend) last year. When she was in full swing in her defense of reefer I used that argument and the counter was that the (evil) tobacco companies use all kinds of poisonous additives.

So I then said - would smoking organic tobacco be ok? She couldn't even speak for a minute - so programmed that tobacco is evil and marijuana is good.

Funny.

My opinion is all smoking is bad for the lungs. Legalized marijuana will solve many issues, but will most probably create others.

Assuming that legalization will simply move users from one substance (alcohol) to another is also suspect. New vices create new demand - it will be a growth industry.

It would be great for taxes, until the health care issues come home to roost.
