Well, I think the established parties look that bad. But I disagree that a third party win doesn't happen very often; I think it never happens. At least in the short term.

But when you have a ideologically polarized, almost evenly divided political situation, a third party that does nothing but make pragmatic sense to the middle class, can be the decisive minority. The platform is what counts, not the party.

I've been around a long time. The country is more politically dysfunctional than I ever remember. The Dems/Reps are not cutting compromise deals, they are not thinking about whats best for the country. There is just the "agenda", on each side. It's killing us at a critical time in our history. Something needs to be done beyond sniping at each other.
