It depends on the area. In Texas, it is perfectly legal to tape phone conversations as long as one of the parties is aware of it. So her taping would have been legal at home. But in others, both parties have to give consent. In that case it would have been illegal. IIRC, the case was in Virginia, so it would depend on Virginia's law.


Interesting. I didn't know the law varied that much from state to state.
