Er, some of us are trying to have a sober discussion about public policy on marijuana.

I haven't used marijuana since 1983, when I started law school. Half a lifetime ago.

My husband and I used to smoke before that, but I decided that it wasn't worth taking the risk of losing my ability to practice law.

As far as I know my kids don't use it, either.

I would definitely smoke if it was legal. I am often in severe pain due to rheumatoid arthritis. If you know anybody with rheumatoid arthritis, the one thing you know is that they talk about "the pain." Your immune system attacks your joints. It's like being chewed up from the inside, all the time.

I take opiates regularly. Marijuana would be a cake walk compared to codeine.

I expect that many people who favor legalizing marijuana have used it. After all, something like 80% have tried it at least once -- and most of the other 20% are lying. ;^)

LOL! Sometimes I've wondered that as well. Not here, but in some other SI places.... I must be one of the few antiques that never did try the stuff...I HATE to be out of control... Being on pretty strong meds after the knee replacement was enough for me. I'm very glad they were available, but got off them just as soon as I could do so...
