The NVA didn't defeat them with an insurgency but with a conventional invasion with hundreds of thousands of soldiers, tanks, heavy artilery, aircraft ect.

We had already lost, even though we had far superior "soldiers, tanks, heavy artillery, aircraft ect.". Why? Because it was their country, and self determination will always eventually win. As a Libertarian you should admit that. Nation building was a particularly strong British skill; at one point the British Empire controlled almost 25% of the worlds population. But we suck at it, and the world has changed.

Iraq is far tougher than Vietnam, there are a lot more factions. They just want us out, so they can get on with their history and their future. We should oblige them.
