coug, 1.5 to 2 is when the should calve, it's not too young.

And its called casting their withers if my memory is correct. An irritation of the vagina that causes them to keep pushing. Holding her vagina when the uterus is already cast was a waste of effort I'm afraid. Take a look at a heifers reproductive system some time and you will see what I'm saying.

I've sewed a vagina shut with shoe string on the factory farm to prevent this casting by the way. I've also helped push a uterus back in that has been cast. It happens unfortunately at least on factory farms.

I've read that somewhere.
