I don't know why you intentionally ignore my point that the unborn are biologically and genetically distinct from the mother.

I ignore it because it is irrelevant. There are people who are biologically distinct from each other and there are some who are not. Think both twins and clones. You have latched onto that trivial bit of chemistry as if it were important, I think you do so only to confuse the issue.

And yes, I have children, and we had a child born too early, at five months gestation, who did not survive the day. In that case the fetus went from wanted to unwanted in about 12 hours time.

How do we determine what a Human being is?
While I am sure this seems very important to you, but it too is largely irrelevant or easily understood by common sense. The real question is why you think all life on earth should be put at risk for such an abstract question. The real question is how humans fit into the continuous chain of life on earth that sustains the whole information tree that is life.

A new and biologically distinct life begins to exist at the moment of conception.
Once again you rely on slogans. If you just get a microscope you can easily see that sperm are not dead, and therefore life didn't "begin" at conception, it only went through one of it's many milestones.

A new and biologically distinct life begins to exist at the moment of conception.

We live in a difficult world that is changing rapidly and we have developed enormous technological power that can be used creatively or destructively. Enormous problems such as over population, pollution of the environment, daily destruction of many species, and conflicts which may and do erupt into conflagrations of tremendous magnitude, killing 1000's & more than 1000's.

Many parts of the world we are still bogged down in societies which carry on the patriarchy which has been oppressing women for millennia. In many countries human rights are being violated and democracy does not really exist. Many parts of the world are still dominated by religions which oppress women and do not allow them fundamental rights to bodily integrity and the possibility of self realization by banning their right to choose abortion , which is preceded by denying them firstly to have -----> access effective contraception.

So you have narrowed "human life's beginning" to the meeting of sperm & egg , but not successfully addressed the rights of the mother .

How do we determine what a Human being is?

Generally , if it walks upright, has ten fingers and ten toes , can nurse its young and use language to communicate, chances are you have a human being....

Whether or not she or her young will have access to the basics of safe shelter , sufficient food and potable water and other humble dignities is often in question . And more often than not throughout the world , it is the women that suffer greatest .
