It was a full 24 hours later that a TV station broadcast a "what to do in case of a tsunami" piece

I can tell you what the response was in Mendocino Co.
1) Call 911, ax them what to do. They finally got so pissed they said call "my" radio station.
2) Call radio station. Tell them either you don't have a radio, or you don't have a battery radio. I called the station yesterday to remind people their cars have battery powered radios :-)
Besides, as all the DJs were laughing about, there wasn't a power failure.
