I am only responsible for *my* words, *my* opinions, tonto, not what OTHERS may say.

My words (addressing what I believe is the larger issue of whether we are 'shooting ourselves in the foot' by seemingly abandoning what is in our own national best interest, upholding the rule of law and standing up for human rights):

How does questioning the utility of ill-defined and open-ended Executive branch detention practices morph into "a great disservice to all U.S. soldiers and veterans"?

(Seems to me there are several PROUD moments in our history when our patriotic, freedom-loving citizen warriors fought to rid the world of non-judicial detentions by Authoritarians who ignored basic human rights....)

Particularly since many military and FBI interrogators are on the record as saying that detainees in GITMO have *little* intelligence value anymore (what info they may have is dated and devalued)... and our global practices of secret detentions and 'renditions' to 'torture-friendly' totalitarian reqimes seems to be handing the enemy a PRICELESS propaganda victory.

What I questioned was the utility, ie, the USEFULLNESS of some of these simple-minded actions.... (In other words: there are better, more effective ways of winning a 'war against terrorism'.... Helping the enemy's recruiting and fund-raising is not very smart....)

And, I'm certainly not the only one who thinks that standing up for traditional American freedoms is a much SMARTER way to win:
