Amnesty International is certainly not responsible for the actions of the people in question, but calling Gitmo a "gulag" is an insult to any prisoner who was ever held in one behind barbed wire and starved to death.

There you go being "Mr. Sensitive" again. I have to agree with you, when I heard the goolag thing I stamped my feet and Wa-wa'ed out loud for maybe an hour and a half. But it's not just Amnesty International. I see that Congress is going to hold hearings on the ICRC. The ICRC isn't doing what is in the interests of the US and if they don't shape up we should cut any funding from them. Hey, if NGOs can't be the tools of American policy and interests why should we fund them? Screw 'em.

I've contacted my travel agent and asked for a reservation at the guest facilities in GITMO for my next holiday.

P.S. One of the dastardly things that the ICRC is being active in campaigning against personnel land mines. One member of Congress points out that's outside their mandate [we want personnel land mines]. The ICRC is supposed to take care of people after they've been maimed and not supposed to be an activist organization in banning personnel land mines. It wouldn't be in the interests of the US if personnel land mines were banned.
