In CA, the same statute applies to driving under the
influence of alcohol as would apply to driving under the influence of a drug. At least it used to be that way.

Funniest thing. I believe that driving under the influence of MJ is illegal in all 50 states.

Only, at least in some states, if you're impaired. If you're not impaired, the use may be a crime, but driving under its influence isn't. (If you're normally very ill and take marijuana medicinally it may be that the marijuana makes you safer, not a less safe, driver.) And so, btw, is driving while impaired under the influence of ANY substance, legal or otherwise. A while back a driver in our state was convicted of driving while impaired -- she had taken a large dose of Tylenol. Made her dizzy. Doesn't matter what you take that impairs you -- antihistimines, cough syrup, marijuana, heroin, doesn't matter. Impaired is impaired.
