That Clinton book might be a disgusting piece of trash, or it might not be! I have read very little about it, but I understand the author is generally well respected and credible.

That's what's giving Hillary supporters fits. If it had been written by a right winger, Hillary could attack the author and peddle the every handy "this is just another aspect of the vast right wing conspiracy" line. But Edward Klein is a moderate-to-liberal voice with impeccable credentials as a researcher and biographer. They are stuck because they can responsibly attack neither the messenger nor, it would seem, the message.

Actually, I suspect that this was deliberately planted to come out now, well before the formal start of the 2008 Presidential race. I suspect that the story was circulating and some FOH thought let's get it out now and let it die out, not wait for it to explode in September 2008. I suspect that HC's rage is mostly manufactured.

Of course, my suspicions could be wrong. But then, they also could be right on.
