And I can feed a family of four a much more nutritious meal than that for a lot less money As we do so often in politics, we talk around things. We talk about minimum wage and living wage and we never talk directly about how we want to treat poverty. When I watch shows like 30 Days or when I read speeches about "living wage," it sounds like some folks want to eliminate homelessness and hunger and others want to eliminate the lower class from the class structure and make them all middle class. But we never address it directly so it's hard to know what's what. When I was a kid, dinner when my father was out of work was a box of Kraft Macaroni and Cheese. I still enjoy it once in a while. The other day the store brand was two for a dollar.
