Treason is what someone in the White House is guilty of due to the intentional outing of CIA WMD's undercover agent Valerie Plame. It is probably Karl Rove but may also be Cheney. Bush promised us a culprit two years ago and hasn't mentioned it since. Cover-up?

It is patriotic to expose gross abuses and atrocities in our military. As the Bush administration singled out for praise the whistle-blower at Abu Graib. But to you, the man is a traitor. Why? Don't atrocities commited by bad apples amongst our troops (including top officers) actually cost US troops their lives, by providing ammo for the enemy to hate us more and recruit new fighters?

It is also patriotic to do whatever one can to help end any war which is a hopeless and pointless morass and lost cause. Those who helped end the Vietnam War (like Kerry) are heros. Maybe Iraq isn't as bad (yet) but we're getting to the point where we may need to cut our losses. We are now caught between a Vietnam style civil war and what we're doing over there just isn't work. I'm not for splitting immediately, but we should accelerate the training of Iraqis, then vastly reduce our presence. For one thing, our troops need a rest and are needed elsewhere in the world.
