It is stupid to defend our iraq policy as going according to plan and not admit there were warts and flaws

From my dad and many others who have been in wars, I have heard 2 things :

1. Throw the plan book away after the 1st shot is fired.
2. Nobody dislikes a war as much as those that have fought one.

IMHO, expectations need to be set, re-set,and re-set many times over, depending on whats happening on the ground. To that extent I can find flaw, especially in these days of "fast-food kinda real time news".
