This point is generally true, but isn't it trivial? The same can be said for any asset/exchange, including cash, gold, etc...

While the statute of limitations has expired on my 2002 post, there are still important differences in the various liquidity levels that the different assets possess. There are limits as to much stock you can sell at one time without affecting the price, depending strongly on the particular stock, but it would be rare to encounter that problem with cash or even gold.
