Exactly my point. I think alot of people are in that position. In fact, I would say that right now, out of all of my friends, my wife is one of the few that continues to work. My friends wives simply could not afford to do it when their kids were young and now they don't find much point in working anyway, since their skills wouldn't bring them much. That seriously limits their income potential, retirement, and ability to pay for college. Most are now very worried about paying for their kids to go to college, but my wife and I are set.

Again, if we don't figure out a way to empower today's women to be more than stay at home moms, then upward mobility will be nigh on impossible to achieve.
