I don't either. It's been a long time since I've thought about it. I've accepted that I like what I like. I do like opera, but only some of it. And I prefer classical music to all other kinds. But I don't like much of either that's less than a century old, so that leaves me out of the high brow category, if there still is one. In painting I tend to like things with a pleasing composition and colors that match my palette... <g>

I like Firebird but not Sacre de Printemps. Probably because I wrote a paper on the former in college so it became very familiar so its dissonance is no longer jarring to my system.
