We went through WWII without torturing anyone. Then came Vietnam. That dirty war started it, maybe because it was so frustrating and was an oppressive war, not a defensive or just one. The CIA black ops types were the ones who sanctioned the tortures. Same ones responsible for the assassination and atrocity campaigns. We lost our morality during that war. Kerry was right. Smearvets were wrong.

There was no torturing during the Clinton years, but once Bush-cheney came in, torturing began. Totally immoral unless the torture will save lives, and you know that for sure.

Abu Graiab is a national disgrace. It was also stupid and perverse and probably got a lot of US soldiers killed. But of course the neocons only blame the messengers. They expect our press to cover up their sins. Amazing arrogance.
