Solon, No, no chance of her becoming competent and aware at this point as was the case with the other two women I mentioned, for they too were irretrievably brain-dead.

This woman is facing the prospect of massive infection and multi-system organ failure while awaiting that 25- or 26-week point of gestation, that being the lower limit of expected fetal viability. I read that she has already developed pneumonia. Because of her pregnancy, treatment modalities are limited.

An additional major worry in her situation is the cancer spreading to her uterus. Chemotherapy and/or radiation therapy presents a clear danger to the fetus, so she cannot have that. If the cancer spreads to her uterus, all bets are off. - Holly
