"The proximity of freedom in Iraq encourages the freedom loving people of Iran."

True... of course, they were *already* pretty fed-up with the dictates and human rights abuses of the Theocrats lonbg before Saddam was forced out.

Doubtful that an open, bloody Sunni/Shia civil war in Iraq will do much for their mood though, and the hardline Theocrats are ALREADY using the presence of 140,000 foreign troops in Iraq (& 'permanent' bases under expensive construction) as an EXCUSE to hold-on to power (to 'preserve' the 'pure faith' against infidels and 'crusaders', don't 'cha know... and 'protect against an invasion by the US' and forced regine change in the second leg of the 'Axis of Evil'.)

Also, one can be a pro-western 'liberal' Iranian and STILL support Iran's acquisition of nuclear weapons on nationalistic grounds... as opinion polls have shown, with Iran being virtually surrounded by nuclear-armed nations (Russia, Pakistan, India, Israel, China, etc.) large majorities of the public support Iran getting nukes.
