I find very little similarity between Felt and Tripp. Mark Felt was criminally convicted of the type of crimes he was illegally disseminating information about. His actions violated his ethical obligations and his legal obligations. He was feeding the liberal media to keep the hype up. He was motivated by his anger over being passed over for the top spot in the FBI. In short the man is pond scum. Linda Tripp on the other hand legally recorded and disseminated conversations to further a federal investigation.

The reaction of Democrats / liberals is that the person who was criminally feeding illegally gathered FBI evidence to media for to settle a personal vendetta is their hero, and the person who aided a legal investigation is vilified. It is very instructive.
