Down to the basics as pragmatic European citizens see it, the best brought by EU are the common currency and open boarders.
As for the rest, great for the press and politicians, but for whom else? The good European, just like his US peer minds his own business.

I find this article to be a rather strange interpretation of recent events and I am not sure the author knows what point he is trying to make.
