"The true heroes of our history are those Americans who refused to accept that we have a special claim to morality and the right to exert our force on the rest of the world. I think of William Lloyd Garrison, the abolitionist. On the masthead of his antislavery newspaper, The Liberator, were the words, "My country is the world. My countrymen are mankind." While Russia was trying to expand its influence in the world, it was eating the core out of its center. The same may happen to the United States as well. Manifest Destiny or G-d's Promised Land, the game is the same. Good article Gus. len

It started as early as 1630 in the Massachusetts Bay Colony when Governor John Winthrop uttered the words that centuries later would be quoted by Ronald Reagan. Winthrop called the Massachusetts Bay Colony a “city upon a hill.” Reagan embellished a little, calling it a “shining city on a hill.” the Lord Jesus Christ was not referring to massachusetts bay colony or the united states when he spoke of a shining city on a hill. he was speaking of the city of the living God, the heavenly Jerusalem. Ye are the light of the world. A city that is set on an hill cannot be hid. Neither do men light a candle, and put it under a bushel, but on a candlestick; and it giveth light unto all that are in the house.
