Unless of course they drink too- then it would be dangerous. People really shouldn't drive under the influence of anything- but I seem to remember reading that plain old fatigues causes the most accidents (researchers think) but of course they don't test for that.

Here's an interesting article about accidents:

smartmotorist.com

All my adult life I have never been involved in an automodile accident (knock on wood), and I'm sure part of the reason for that is that I have never driven a car under the influence of anything, because I drink very little, don't take any illegal drugs, rarely take even prescription drugs, and try not to drive when I know I am fatigued. I also don't speed, use the cruise control for most streets so I don't let my speed creep up, and no matter what kind of day I've had I always try to let in other motorirsts, whether its letting them in to my lane, or letting them out of driveways, or whatever. I think we all need to be a lot more conscious behind the wheel that we are driving what amounts to a loaded weapon. I do not think enough people really think about that as they drive. I am always conscious of how quickly accidents occur, and I try to make sure I am alert enough to compensate for the faults of other drivers. I think if we all thought about the dangers of driving more, we would all have fewer accidents.
