I figured you were referring to the ugly side, but it never hurts to elaborate, since often people read quickly, and I wouldn't want anyone to get the wrong idea (I was thinking more of other people who might read our conversation than of us, since I have never known you to slam love of country in its benign forms). So many of the political and philosophical arguments on SI stem from simple misunderstandings (which often never get resolved).
