>Have you had a new German or Japanese car? There is no comparison. I have 36k miles on my car.......its five years old. I have had to change the oil 5 times, the brakes once and the battery once. That's it. Door handles don't fall off. Transistors don't fail with regularity. The radio and cd work fine........there is no static. Parts don't wear out frequently. Its a whole other world.

Nope. My family's always bought American, but that's starting to change. My next car will be Japanese unless one of the GM brands introduces a hybrid for the '06 model year.

Ted, my Beamer has had some minor reliability problems, similar to that of my previous Ford Taurus.

Of course, it's been just over two years and already I've racked up more than 50K miles on it, so maybe the heavy usage is taking a toll. One thing is for sure, however. It's a damn fun car to drive.
