Smooth Sail, you'll need a cable between the casette player and the audio input of your PC. Radio Shack has it. Once connected, the PC audio card will play the casette tape. Now you need a PC program to capture the audio and convert it to MP3 or WMA. This is discussed here pcmag.com

I think there are free programs, too. Try to Google 'audio capture'. I've used a Sony Walkman for the player. The trouble was that the different songs on the audio casette were not separated the way they are on a store-bought CD, so once you have burned the music to CD you can't skip between songs. Maybe there's a way to do this but I don't know how.

A Cassette Deck for the PC

The PlusDeck 2 is a full-logic cassette deck for your PC. Use it to archive your old cassette tapes of 80s hair bands into digital media files for playback on your PC. Or better yet, archive your favorite audio files or streams onto cassette - perfect for playback in your '78 Midget that is still not sporting an in-dash CD player. (Those of you still in the 8-track days will have to keep waiting for a PC-friendly solution I'm afraid...)

Myself, I see the PlusDeck as the ultimate in retro-cool PC mods. Add a CoolerMaster Musketeer for the analog gauges, and you've got some nice old-school sweetness in your modern day gaming rig.
