Here is another minor problem re msconfig
When I uncheck items and restart I get a message box regarding selective startup and all of the unchecked items are back. what am I doing wrong.

Just found the microsoft firewall is (was) active on my computer. wonder if that could have affected my wireless connection and not my wired access thorough the same router. I turned off the firewall but won't have wireless access till tomorrow night to check it
