Democrats and Republicans killed the Special Prosecutor. The office was never really required. Janet Reno proved that a determined Attorney General could thwart the work of the office. You are unlikely to get a Special Prosecutor appointed. There is no evidence of malfeasance that survives the test of partisanship to justify it.
