- Sen. Dick Durbin (D-Ill) on the floor of the US Senate....

"If I read this to you and did not tell you that it was an FBI agent describing what Americans had done to prisoners in their control, you would most certainly believe this must have been done by Nazis, Soviets in their gulags, or some mad regime—Pol Pot or others—that had no concern for human beings. Sadly, that is not the case. This was the action of Americans in the treatment of their prisoners".

...."wstera, I don't and Durbin didn't either compare our military with Stalin, Pol Pot or Hitler. NOBODY is comparing our military with THOSE people."

No one said YOU did. Almost everyone else knows differently
about Durbin's treacherous statement. Anyone who is still
attached to reality that is.

There is nothing you can say that will alter Durbin's clear
comparison of our military to Nazis, Stalin's gulags & Pol
Pot's killing fields.

Nothing!

And this is the last time I will tell you to stop spinning,
revising or rehabilitating what Durbin said. We don't do
alternate realities here.

...."Durbin is saying that the actions of "some" of our soldiers are reprehensible and if our higher ups in the military didn't condone that type of activity, then they were either negligent or incompetent in allowing it to happen."

Show me where Durbin explicitly said "some".

He didn't. That's a fact. And it has no bearing on what he
actually said whatsoever.

As for the rest of your unsubstantiated opinion, it is wild
speculation that has no basis in fact or reality which is not
welcome on this thread. But you already know this.

You will not be warned again about what is considered On Topic
& Off Topic on this thread.
