I can imagine Saddam giving the neoconian answer after he invaded Kuwait; "What's done is done...let us not waste time arguing the invasion of Kuwait for it is a thing of the past...instead let us discuss the future and how Kuwait shall prosper better under Iraqi rule".

I am not advocating cutting and running. On the contrary, I believe we need to help Iraq get on its feet.
