won't argue with you, just as I wouldn't argue with LB, that Durbin didn't say that US troops are as bad as Hitler, etc. That would not be productive. it wouldn't be productive because his statement is in the public record and an accurate parsing of his words would prove you wrong (if you are so inclined to follow the party 'i was misunderstood' line)

Durbin's comments were made on the night of 6/14/05. It looks like the first person to attack Durbin was Laura Ingraham, who has a morning drive-time talk show. She played clips the very next morning (6/15/05.) Looks like Al Jazeera did not pick it up until the next day (6/16/05). The transcript of Rush Limbaugh's commentary on the 16th doesn't seem to even mention Al Jazeera. The week before that, Durbin was making nasty comments on the vast right wing attack machine. Whoops.
