Ted, never mind. After thinking about it, my "theory of evil" isn't all that original.

Anyway, to be brief, evil is a cancer of the mind, the personality, or the soul. It all starts with a small but significant corrupting factor, which IMO is very closely related to entropy.

We spend a lot of time and energy trying to stop or reverse the flow of entropy, but the fact remains that it's still there, persistently corrupting whatever system of order we take for granted, whether it be DNA, moral codes, or even lines of logical thinking.

I generally agree although I am not sure I see it quite as black and white as you present it. I think evil is in all of us and either we succumb to it or we keep it contained.
