Hi Gottfried After many different tests, I finally got it working without the blare. The solution was to get another boom box and plug it into a different socket (away from the computer). I'm pretty impressed with Audiograbber. It's simple and it works. Thanks for the help. Roxio has a simple equalizer that can be used to smooth out the bumps. So now I can put approx. 200 tapes on CDs - something that I've wanted to do for awhile. Thanks again for your help. SS
