O'Neill would have no rational reason to hate his brother in arms John Kerry. Kerry served before O'Neill and was a legend on the Mekong. Not very many people win Silver and Bronze stars. The man was a bona fide hero and totally fearless. He was also a great guy, really smart and a Ivy League kid who volunteered for combat but could have easily avoided the war. O'Neill was handpicked by convicted dirty trickster Charles Colson to go on TV and promote the Vietnam War for Nixon. O'Neill has been a GOP crony ever since. O'Neill may have hated Kerry out of jealousy, because O'Neil isn't worthy of licking Kerry's combat boots as a man, a professional or a citizen.
