Remember, dissent = unpatriotic That push by the Bush team didn't seem to get very far. Until the fines & liscence threats which came after the Janet Jackson episode. That's the intimidation side. Part of this is most media being unable to try to live without spin. They can spin one way or the other, but they have trouble being even close to objective. So after the Fox news coverage of the "active phase" of Iraq, much of the media started dropping Iraq stories.
